GETTING CERTIFIED

NCBPA is now accepting requests to give Certification Tests for Backflow Assembly Prevention Testers and Cross- Connection Specialists at the request of the applicant. This includes new Certifications for Backflow Assembly Testers, Cross-Connection Specialists, and Re-certifications for Backflow Assembly Testers. Certificates issued upon completion will be issued by NCBPA & CRWA.

The Northern California Backflow Prevention Association (NCBPA) offers reciprocity, recognizing and accepting certifications from both the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA). Testers who wish to renew their certifications with NCBPA and currently hold valid, unexpired certificates—or those still within the grace period for renewal—can do so seamlessly.

This reciprocity ensures that certified professionals can maintain their credentials without interruption, benefiting from the established standards and expertise of these respected organizations. NCBPA has acquired the Sierra Backflow Training Website and we are now offering classes and certification in the San Jose Area. Please go to the website at http://www.sierrabackflowtrainingcenter.com for more information.

The California Rural Water Association (CRWA) provides training in conjunction with industry specialists of Backflow Management Inc. (BMI), and also hosts both NCBPA (Northern Backflow Prevention Association), and ABPA (American Backflow Prevention Association), for testing after the completion of the course.

Please email custservice@norcalbpa.org or call (707) 731-4239 to request information.
